Wilhelm von Faber marries Bertha, the daughter of Eberhard Faber, in 1876. The couple has two sons and three daughters. The sons die in infancy.
Hedwig, Ottilie and Sophie von Faber attend a boarding school for "young ladies" in Munich.
Ottilie's brothers Lothar and Alfred do not survive infections. This marks the end of the male line of the Faber family.
